Webbula is unable to process files that contain hashed emails.
What is a hashed email?
A hashed email is an email address that has been transformed into a string of characters using a cryptographic hashing function—commonly for security or anonymization purposes. This means the actual email address is no longer visible or accessible without the original input and the specific hash function used.
Why this matters for Webbula:
Webbula’s platform operates using a hybrid system that combines active scanning and suppression technologies. These methods rely on the plain-text email address to conduct real-time checks against known threats like spam traps, bots, moles, and fraudulent addresses. When an email is hashed, we lose the ability to apply these intelligence layers effectively.
What we need instead:
To generate accurate hygiene and verification results, we require emails in their original, unencrypted form. Providing unhashed emails allows our system to fully analyze each address and return meaningful data that can inform your marketing and deliverability strategies.
If privacy is a concern, we understand—and we encourage clients to explore secure data transmission options, such as our encrypted FTP or API methods, which ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
